Langtang Valley Trek

Despite being very close to Kathmandu, the Langtang valley is wild and tranquil rural landscape ideal for a pleasant trek. The beautiful Langtang valley offers you gentle walk through the sub-tropical jungle, then through a dense forest of oak, fir, rhododendron, and pine before opening out into alpine meadows and yak pastures. If you are lucky to trek in spring you will see these pastures floored with the alpine wild flowers and the forests full with orchids and colorful rhododendrons. Keep an eye, you might witness the local faunas grazing and hunting along by your trail. Also at the same time you can get opportunity to take a close look at the lifestyle of different ethnic groups such as Tamangs and the Tibetan descendents residing in the area.

You will cherish the 360 degree panorama as you watch from Kyanjing Ri and Tserko Ri throughout your life.  Some of the soaring peaks of Langtang Himalayan range that you can relish the view are Langtang Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Langshisa Ri , Langtang Lirung, Langtang Ri , and many other snow capped majestic peaks. A visit to monasteries including one at Kyangjing evokes saintly feelings while visit to the cheese factory located at the high altitude will definitely bring “wow” out of your mouth looking at the hard work of the locals of the remote district.
 

After a day of sightseeing along the popular world heritage sites in Kathmandu, our Langtang Valley trek begins following about 6-7 hours’ drive to Syabru Besi the next day. Starting from the settlement of Syabru and walking through sub-tropical forests, scattered villages, and finally through alpine meadows you reach Kyanjing Gompa where you spend a day to explore the region as it has many things to offer you. Exploration of monastery, the viewpoints, and the glaciers will make your day a busy one. Descending from the upper Langtang Valley, you will retrace the route back to Syabru Besi from where you drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 01 : Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu

You are welcomed by hospitable meeting and then you will be transferred to hotel. Our airport representative will explain briefly the program upon arrival. Overnight at hotel

Day 02 : Trek Preparation and Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour

Sightseeing of world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley including, Kathmandu Darbar square, Swayambhunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa & Pasupatinath Temple. Overnight at hotel, inclusive of breafast

Day 03 : Drive to Syabru Bensi (1462 meters) by bus/jeep. 7 hrs 

Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi which takes about seven hours by bus/jeep. You head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabru Besi passing through Dhunche. While passing along the road at the bank of Trisuli River you catch a glimpse of Ganesh Himal, terraces and green hills. As you pass through Dhunche you feel as if you are heading towards deep land. At the same time, you notice that the road is still under construction. Overnight at guesthouse, inclusive of full board meals

Day 04 : Trek to Lama Hotel (2500 meters) 5 hrs 

Today, the first part of the trail crosses through Bhote Koshi and follows the Langtang Khola. This trail is gradually climbs to Bamboo passing through the Landslide area. Afterwards, your trek ascends gently to Ramche (2400meters) through Bamboo (1960meters) which lies at the bank of Langtang Khola. You can have lunch at this place if you like. And at the end your trail is level to the Lama Hotel. En route you could see red pandas, monkeys and bears if you’re lucky. Overnight at guesthouse, inclusive of full board meals

Day 05 : Trek to Langtang Village (3307 meters) 5 hrs 

The trek route follows Gumanechok, Ghoda Tabela literally it means the Horse Stable. After this the trail is slightly gradual and beautiful in the valley with the grazing Yaks. Langtang village is one of the very local and old villages along this trekking route and the view from here is more spectacular. Overnight at guesthouse, inclusive of full board meals

Day 06 : Trek to Kyangjuma Gompa (3798 meters) 4 hrs

Today is a shorter walk but enough for acclimatization. The surroundings are interesting also because of the famous Cheese factory. This beautiful valley in the lap of the Langtang Lirung and other around. A place to explore the valley and lots of small peaks to climb. Overnight at guesthouse, inclusive of full board meals

Day 07 : Kyangjuma Gompa Exploration and climb Chorkari Ri 7 hrs 

Today is a day to rest and explore the area. You can visit the monastery and the cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and ascend at Chorkari Ri (5050 meters) which is highest point of this trek, directly behind the village, for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang peak.Overnight at guesthouse, inclusive of full board meals

Day 08 : Trek back to Lama hotel. Overnight at guesthouse, inclusive of full board meals

Day 09 : Trek to Syabru Bensi (1462 meters) hours. Overnight at guesthouse, inclusive of full board meals

Day 10 : Drive back to Kathmandu by bus/jeep. Overnight at hotel, inclusive of breakfast
 

Day 11 : Transfer to airport for your onward journey."Farewell"
